On Monday, December 10th, some of the staff members at Retrotel’s Palm Springs office gathered to present a check to Terri Bona, Director of Fund Development for Family YMCA of the Desert. The donation is part of Retrotel’s annual holiday charity project, aimed at helping local children in the Coachella Valley. The funds will be used toward the YMCA’s sustainability drive.
The Family YMCA of the Desert oversees after school programs for more than 3,500 valley children. They also sponsor local summer camps as well as destination camps and operate pre-schools throughout the valley. Scholarships and grants are made available to those in need so that children from all socio-economic backgrounds can participate in sports and recreation programs on an equal level with their friends and teammates.
